Our Management
Mr. Massey began his career in the coal business in 1972 with the family owned A.T. Massey Coal Co., Inc. In 1982 Mr. Massey founded Blue Crystal Coal Sales Company and subsequently merged the firm with Transco Coal Company, the predecessor of James River Coal Company, now a publicly held coal producer. Mr. Massey has also been involved with natural gas and coalbed methane production in the Appalachian Basin as well as the distribution and sales of equipment used in coal preparation plants. Mr. Massey career has focused on sales and marketing of brokerage coal production resulting in long standing relationships with Appalachian coal producers and consumers in industrial, utility and export markets. In 2004, he founded Compass Coal Services, LLC and his responsibilities include developing sources of coal supplies for Compass clients and directing its coal consulting business. |
